My ECG Journey

Who am I?

Who am I?

Develop self-awareness of strengths, interests and personality

Before you decide what course you wish to pursue in which University, you need to ask yourself this simple yet important question, “What do I want to be?”

The process of uncovering what you are meant to do, i.e. finding your career direction, is a journey that starts with discovering who you really are – your Values, Interests, Personality and Skills (VIPS).

Where am I going?

Develop social awareness and relationship management

After knowing what your VIPS are, what are the viable and available higher education and career choices you would like to consider pursuing? This information regarding higher education and career options may be obtained from the internet and through conversations with higher education and industry experts, your parents and teachers. This knowledge may also be acquired through the process of experiential learning, such as learning journeys and work attachments.

Once you have obtained a better understanding of yourself, you can then proceed to plan your career and carve a niche for yourself in your desired field of work.

How do I get there?

Develop self-management and responsible decision-making

Once you know what educational and career pathways you wish to pursue, what are the steps that you need to take to help you reach your goal? Do you need to monitor and review your progress and adjust your plans accordingly?

Career planning is all about setting S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-focused and Time-bound) goals and learning how to manage your time and self, while striving to achieve your desired outcomes.
